Is America a Judeo-Christian Nation?

Congressman Forbes asks the question “Did America ever consider itself a Judeo-Christian nation?” and “If America was once a Judeo-Christian nation, when did it cease to be?” on the floor of the US House.

  1. May the Lord bless and keep you Congressman Randy Forbes. I agree with you 100%. Our Patriots who founded this nation must be turning in their graves wondering why aren’t we speaking more and more on these issues. Thank you again Sir, our prayers are with you.

    I’ve never understood the reasoning behind the phrase ‘Judeo-Christian.’ It implies of course, that Judaism and Christianity are somehow closer to each other than either is to Islam.

    That, to be brief, is not an assumption that will stand examination.

    Indeed, while ‘Judeo-Christian’ began its life as a way of including Jews into hitherto explicitly Christian Western polities, it is now neither more nor less than a code-word for expressing hostility towards Islam.
