Sophie's Choice
Suggested Donation: $75
A mother stands in the "not fit for work" line with her little girl and young boy. The little girl is pale and frightened, and the boy is looking down. Often when someone, even a child, looked in the eyes of a Nazi or asked him a question, he was shot. This boy appears to already know to look down and be careful not to draw attention. Of course, both these children will be among the first to be killed, but Mom does not know that yet. On the spur of the moment, some evil guard may approach and pretend to give her a choice between the children - first of all for sport, but secondly, in order to draw her into his evil. There is no way out. Measure of artwork is 9” x 9”. Copyright 2010 by Pat Mercer Hutchens
Is my dolly Jewish?
Suggested Donation: $75
A quarter of a million Jews were crammed in a ghetto in Lodz, Poland at the start of the Nazi’s war. By the time the war was over only 800 survived, including 12 children. The story of one of those children– Sylvia Perlmutter Rozines– is presented in a new book by Jennifer Roy entitled Yellow Star. Reading it, I was moved by something Sylvia said as a little child during the roundup by the Nazis. She asked, “Mommy, is my dolly Jewish?”
That is the title of this painting of women and children standing in front of one of the smoking crematoria in Auschwitz. Among them I placed little Sylvia and her dolly, both with yellow stars. Measure of artwork is 9” x 9”. Copyright 2010 by Pat Mercer Hutchens.
Son of Aaron
Suggested Donation: $75
This young boy, quietly standing alone holding onto his mother’s coattail and almost hidden among several well dressed women, is no ordinary child. Impeccably dressed in what looks like a tailor-made coat, he has a clean shaven haircut and sidelocks (payot). As soon as I saw him, I felt sure this child was either a gaon (genius), a child prodigy, or born in the Aaronic line of the Priesthood. I chose the latter and named him Ben-Aharon (Son of Aaron). He will be among the first to be gassed and burned. Measure of artwork is 9” x 9”. Copyright 2010 by Pat Mercer Hutchens.
Hamotzei Lechem
Suggested Donation: $75
Imagine whole families being dragged at gunpoint from their homes, marked with yellow stars, herded into a train, and only to arrive at the killing fields of Auschwitz. In large canvas-like bags hanging heavy from their shoulders, were probably some pictures and a few treasures, but more likely what a mother would never forget – food for the children. Here a mother and her beautiful little girl are eating a piece of bread, while the young boy fearfully peers out from behind. Even in this moment of fear, the mother no doubt said the HaMotzei Lechem (prayer for blessing bread) before they took a bite. Measure of artwork is 9” x 9”. Copyright 2010 by Pat Mercer Hutchens.
Fit to work
Suggested Donation: $75
Once these women arrived, to Aushwitz everything they had brought with them was taken away and thrown into huge piles. Men were separated from the women and children. Women were then divided into ‘fit to work’ and ‘unfit to work’ lines. Their hair was crudely chopped off. They were sent in groups to shower rooms. They were deloused by having lime poured over their whole body. They were given sack dresses and scarves. These three women were standing among a large group waiting for the next orders. The first one is obviously pregnant and traumatized. The second appears to be praying. The third clutches the top of her blouse as if to recover some degree of dignity while she stares around in unbelief. Measure of artwork is 9” x 9”. Copyright 2010 by Pat Mercer Hutchens.
Granny and children

Mother and Babies
Suggested Donation: $75
A mother ( frightfully looking to her right side) sits with her beautiful baby girl in her lap. Innocently, her little boy, sits by her side. They have already been ‘selected’ by the Nazi SS for the ‘not fit for work’ line; thus, they are headed straight for death by gas or fire.
Because of the insane time in which we live, when people actually have the gall to deny the horrors of the Holocaust, Pat feels absolutely compelled to present evidence to the contrary. These innocents sitting among the crowds of the Nazi-condemned, these real life women and children stir our hearts. Measure of artwork is 9” x 9”. Copyright 2010 by Pat Mercer Hutchens.
Shabbat
Suggested Donation: $100
Some believe Shabbat (the Sabbath) is the most important holiday in the Bible, the one day of the week when believers stop their work, seek to honor God and meditate on spiritual issues. This painting contains the kneaded Challah bread, a bottle of kosher wine with the word Tikveh (Hope), and a prayer shawl which has written on it in Hebrew “Blessed be the One who gave us Shabbat.” The menorah has two lions, signifying the lion of Judah and the lion of Ephraim. We pray this artwork will be a joy and a blessing to you as you “remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.” Measure of giclee archival print is 11” x 14”. Father Make a way
Suggested Donation: $100
In the picture, Father Abraham reaches back to assist his beloved Isaac, who, while innocently lagging behind, totally trusts his father. Isaac carries on his own back a little pile of kindling wood for the fire. To the right, a huge tree with two leaves for the "healing of the nations," tenaciously grips the earth, while at the top of that tree the two limbs offer the only two paths to take when God calls – "yes" or "no." Below that tree are a few stalks of wheat with seedlings growing naturally in the shape of a menorah (light), inspired from the verse, "Unless a grain of wheat fall on the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it produces much fruit. He who loves his life will lose it and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life." (John 12:24). Measure of giclee archival print is 11” x 14”. Lion of Judah
Suggested Donation: $100
This painting was moved and inspired by the words of the prophet, Hosea: “I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I will tear and walk away; I will take away and there will be no one to deliver. I will go, returning unto my place - until they are ashamed and they seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me early.” “Come, let us return unto Yahweh. It’s true - He has torn - but He will heal us. He struck us with His own hand - but He will bind us up” (Hosea 5:14-6:1). Measure of giclee archival print is 11” x 14”. The Return of the Prodigal
Suggested Donation: $100
This painting, one of our most popular, is of the Father welcoming back the prodigal son. In the picture, the father's beard mingles with the son's hair as he encircles his beloved prodigal with his prayer shawl. Measure of giclee archival print is 11” x 14”. All donations go directly to The Jerusalem Connection's ministries for Israel. Copyright 2009 Pat Mercer Hutchens.
The Good Samaritan
Suggested Donation: $100
The Good Samaritan depicts the story from Luke 10:30. There are three cut stumps in the foreground. The man beaten and left to die was obviously cut down. The men walking off into a stormy distant were cut down too, but by their own actions. Their shadows are lengthening as they walk into a dark place. On the left side of the painting is the actual building with the lone shade tree at its side — as it is found today at the place of the Good Samaritan in Israel. The growing corn on the left side speaks of resurrection and redemption and should be a perpetual reminder that there is always hope for restoration by turning back to God. Measure of giclee archival print is 11” x 14”. All donations go directly to The Jerusalem Connection's ministries for Israel. Copyright 2009 by Pat Mercer Hutchens.
Jerusalem of Gold
Suggested Donation: $200
For many years it was on my mind and heart to paint Jerusalem as it might have been when The Temple (Ha Mikdash, The Holy Place) was on the Holy Temple Mount in Jerusalem in the Land of Israel. For Jews, the Golden City is the center of the world from the time of David and Solomon, who built the First Temple – until 70 A.D. when Rome destroyed and burned Jerusalem, the Temple, massacred its inhabitants – then drove any Jews who remained out into the Diaspora. The Western Wall is all that remains of ancient Jerusalem; it is the heart of Israel today. The Third Temple waits to be built..

Guilty!
by James and Patty Hutchens (personally signed copy)
Suggested Donation: $30
Yes, we are Guilty! We are guilty of being Christian Zionists. We are guilty of trying the best we knew at the time to identify with the Jewish people. We are guilty of having a passion for activating God's covenant of love for His treasured possession. We are guilty of loving Israel in a way that only dimly reflects God's eternal love for them. We are guilty of weeping over the Land and people as Jesus did. This book is our heartfelt letter of love to Israel; we are Christians for Israel!
Hebrew for the Goyim
by Pat Mercer Hutchens (Personally signed copy)
Suggested Donation: $30
Each letter of the Hebrew alphabet was first a picture with a purpose, a drawing with meaning. Yes, there are codes in the Bible. They go back to the beginnings, to Egyptian hieroglyphs and to Phoenician, Middle Eastern and Hebrew alphabets, from which most languages emerged. For seekers or anyone interested in origins, alphabets or the Bible, Hebrew for the Goyim is the book for you. Sales help support the ministries of TJCI.
